The bilingualism project at Cedes school proposes the immersion of our students in English, enabling them to achieve comprehensive learning of language skills through interactions with their environment, as well as developing the ability to communicate effectively.
Bilingualism at Cedes School is rooted in social interaction and the immersion of students in all areas of the school environment, creating in them a need to use English and allowing them to absorb it intuitively. In this way, they incorporate the language into their daily lives and in their efforts to acquire challenging academic skills and knowledge.
Fifty per cent of our students' timetable is in English, and our focus on active and unified methodologies ensures and enhances continuity and progression between grades, which supports the development of language skills.
One of the keys to our bilingual model is the separation of languages, which we implement by teachers and by subjects. This means that English teachers, mostly native speakers, only speak in English, whether in the playground, corridor, or even outside school, resulting in students learning to address them solely in that language.
